The Heredity of the
Final Messenger of Allah

For a Muslim, knowing about and being acquainted with the life of the Final Messenger sallallahu alayhi wasallam is essential. His life and his faith revolve around the life of the Messenger sallallahu alayhi wasallam; his life is a reflection and reproduction of the life of the Messenger sallallahu alayhi wasallam. Ignorance of even a small portion of the Messenger’s sallallahu alayhi wasallam lifestyle places a believer in the perilous situation of being unaware of a portion of his own life whilst complete ignorance of the Messenger sallallahu alayhi wasallam will relieve a person of his faith. Allah Ta'ala states:

‘The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) is closer to the believers than their own selves…’ (33:6)

It is therefore imperative that a Muslim is well acquainted with the Seerah (Lifestyle) of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

Heredity of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam

Anas radhiallahu anhu states:

'The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam recited the following verse of the Glorious Qur'an applying a 'Fathah' (instead of the normal 'Dham'mah') to the letter 'Faa': 'Indeed there came unto you a messenger from the noblest amongst you.'

Thereafter, explaining the verse Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam stated:

'I have been blessed with the noblest lineage amongst you, none in my lineage up to Adam u has committed adultery, and we are all legitimate descendants.' (Ibn Mardawayh)

Those pious and illustrious souls who have been chosen by Allah Ta'ala to receive prophethood are sure to hold such lofty lineages, for indeed when Allah Ta'ala was to make the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam 'the chosen one' (mustafã) then indeed Allah Ta'ala would have ensured that his ancestry and heredity was also mustafã - the chosen one.

Another point worth noting is that whoever develops a connection or link with any of these illustrious personalities Allah Ta'ala ensures their integrity and honour remains safe.

Take the example of Mother of the Believers, Aishah radhiallahu anha. The hypocrites of Madeenah under the leadership of the evil Abdullah bin Ubay spread slanderous accusations against her. A small number of gullible and naive Muslims also became caught up in the spreading of this slur. Allah Ta'ala revealed ten verses of the Glorious Qur'an defending her chastity and honour. In one of these verses Allah Ta'ala states:

'(O Muslims!) Why, when you heard of it (the slander), did you not say, “It is not for us to speak about this. Pure are You (O Allah). This is a terrible calumny.” (24:16)
